This painting was done on site from quite high up overlooking the North sea at Mappleton sands ;the day was quite hot and hardly a cloud in view.I tried to capture the movement of the tide rushing in and the vastness looking down from the cliff .This painting was executed in oil and is quite large measuring 30 inch by 23 inch approx. in old measurement The price if wishing to purchase would be £180.

Turbulent sky

There was quite a strong wind blowing when I did this painting and there was intermittent rain; the sky took on some really interesting colour and there was much varying colour in the river also. Painting with a strong metal easel, it was sometimes lifted by the strong wind which had presented quite a challenge.

This painting which someone bought was inspired by a visit to a friends garden ; which appeared to have many Georgian like features. Many paintings like this one were part of an exhibition titled ” Georgian seasons”. The light featured very strongly when I was doing these painting and many varying hues were provided by the sun filtering through the trees.
